Description
If you're a Pre-K or Kindergarten teacher, you know that the first several weeks and months of the school year is all about learning to identify and name the letter of the alphabet. This activity will make teaching {and learning} the alphabet fun, engaging, and hands-on!
Students will sort and pair uppercase and lowercase letters with this matching activity.
This packet includes:
-4 year-round themed uppercase and lowercase letter cards
-1 “Make a Match” work mat
-1 uppercase and lowercase reference page
-2 optional recording sheets
To prepare the activity cut apart and laminate a set of the letter cards. Print and laminate the work mat and reference page, if using. Print a recording sheet, if using.
Students will match the uppercase and lowercase letter cards to make a matching pair. Recording sheets are included to hold students accountable.
For a different activity, students can turn the cards over and play a memory matching game. You can have students use the recording sheet to write the matches that they made.
This activity also works great in a pocket chart!
