This literacy and math centers pack is perfect for Kindergarteners during the month of February! Themes included in this packet are: Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day and American symbols, Dental Health, bees and flowers, bubble gum, cookies, and bears.

Contains a total of 27 center activities (14 math center activities and 13 literacy center activities). All activities are common core aligned with standards included.

All activities include:
-a table of contents
-recording sheets to hold students accountable for their work

-follow-up print-and-go activities/worksheets to reinforce the skills covered in this packet.

Here’s an idea of the activities included:
-“Spot the Ending Sound” – Students will identify the ending sound of a given word/picture. (L.K.1a, RF.K.3a)

-“Ring in the Rhymes” – Students will read a CVC word and determine which CVC picture rhymes. 2 levels included for differentiation. (RF.K.2a, RF.K.2d)

-“Heart Full of Vowel” – Students will identify the missing short vowel in a CVC word/picture. (RF.K.3b)

-“A Change of Heart” – Students will read a CVC word and change the sound to make a new word. 2 levels included: change the beginning sound and change the ending sound. (L.K.1a, RF.K.2e, RF.K.3a)

-“Buzzing Word Families” – Students will identify which word family a CVC picture belongs to. They will spell the CVC word and record it on their paper. (RF.K.2d, RF.K.3a, RF.K.3d)

-“Spell It, Groundhog!” – Students will spell CVC words using the letter tiles provided. 2 letter tile options included for differentiation. (RF.K.3a, RF.K.3b, R.FK.2c, RF.K.2d)

-“Brushin’ Up on Silent e” – Students will spell CVCe words using the letter tiles provided. 2 letter tile options included for differentiation. (RF.K.3b)

-“Candy Heart Sort” – Students will read a CVC word to determine if it is a real word or a nonsense word. (RF.K.2c, RF.K.2d, RF.K.3a)

-“Digraph Declaration” – Students will identify the correct digraph {ch, sh, th, wh} of a given word/picture. 2 levels included: digraphs at the beginning of the word, digraphs at the end of the word {ch, sh, th only} (RF.K.2)

-“Secret Code Sight Words” – Students will identify the beginning sound of each picture to “break the code” and spell a sight word. (L.K.1a, RF.K.3a)

-“Sight Word Buzz” – Students will unscramble the sight word and match it to the card with the correctly spelled sight word. (L.K.1a, RF.K.3c)

-“Bakin’ Up Vowels” – Students will sort picture cards by short and long vowels. (RF.K.3b)

-“Write the Room” – Includes a stationary option as well as the traditional walking around the room. (L.K.1a, RF.K.1b)

-“Sweet Numbers” – Students will put number cards in order to 20. Optional themed number line included. (K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.2)

-“Count On, Groundhog” – Students will identify the number that comes before and after a given number for numbers up to 20. Also includes numbers up to 30 for students who need a challenge. Optional themed number line included. (K.CC.A.2)

-“Celebrate Sequencing” – Students will unscramble a set of 4 numbers and write them in order. 2 options: numbers to 15 and 20. Optional themed number line included. (K.CC.A.2, K.CC.A.3)

-“Roll and Race {2 options: to 50 and 100}” – Students will roll the cube and count the space until they reach 50 or 100. (K.CC.A.1)

-“Base Ten Check-Up” – Students will count the base ten blocks and record the number on their paper. (K.CC.A.3, K.NBT.A.1)

-“Tooth-rific Tens” – Students will use the ten frame to make an addition sentence equal to ten. (K.OA.A.4)

-“Robot Rally Tally” – Students will count the tally marks and record the number on their paper. 2 options included: tally marks to 10 and 20. (K.CC.B.5)

-“Special Delivery” – Students will solve addition sentences and record their answer on the paper. Includes optional sorting mats, counters, work mats, and number line. (K.OA.A.2)

-“A Pop of Subtraction” – Students will solve subtraction sentences and record the answer on their paper. Includes optional sorting mats, counters, work mats, and number line. (K.OA.A.2)

-“Heart-Bonds” – Students will fill in the missing number to complete the number bond. 2 options: fill in the whole number when given two parts, fill in the missing addend when given one part and the whole. (K.OA.3)

-“Brushin’ up on Ten Frames” – Students will count the ten frame and record the number. Numbers to 10 and numbers to 20 included. (K.NBT.A.1, K.CC.A.1, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-“Sweet Counting” – Students will count and total two sets of objects and then determine which number is greater. 2 options: numbers to 15 and numbers to 20. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-“Presidential Counting” – Students will skip count to fill in the missing number. 2 options included: count by 10 to 100, count by 5 to 50. Optional themed number line included. (K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.2)

-“Let’s Graph” – Using picture mats, students will complete a graph and answer questions. 4 picture mats and graphs included.(K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5, K.MD.A.2, K.MD.B.3)
