Halloween for Kindergarten {Simple, Fun, and Free!}

I'm back today sharing some more ideas on Halloween for Kindergarten! Do your kids love games that involve spinners? My class does, every year! Which is why I created the It's All Fun and Games series. I'm not sure if it is because they think it's cool to make their own spinner...or just the fascination with paper clips in general.

Nonetheless, let's put that excitement to good use with some Halloween games. These are fun, engaging, and a great way to get kids working cooperatively and building social skills at the same time.

Students need a paper clip and a pencil to make a spinner. I used these fun pumpkins and small erasers I found in the dollar section at Target. (You can get similar ones by using my affiliate link and purchasing yours through Amazon by clicking here.) Students take turns spinning the spinner and putting that many candies in their pumpkin. The first player to fill their pumpkin is the winner!

You don't need to use the objects I have pictured. You can use what you have. Just be sure that the size of the container and manipulatives are proportionate. A game with too big of a container and small pieces will take forever to finish. While a small container and with large manipulatives will be over in a snap!

Here's a game you can use to practice letter sounds or beginning sounds. Students play with a partner. Each student will need small erasers, snap cubes, etc to cover the letters on their board. They take turns spinning the spinner. You can either have students make the letter sound or name a word that begins with that letter.

If the student can say the sound or name a word correctly, they cover the letter on their board. When it's their turn again, if they land on the same letter, they lose a turn. The first player to cover all of the letters is the winner.
