Beginning Blends: It’s Hip to Clip

Students read the blend to identify the sound. They use a clothespin to “clip” the pictures that have the matching beginning blend sound (great fine motor practice!).

There are 3 optional recording sheets included to hold students accountable for their work.

“I Can” visual directions pages and a cheat sheet for picture beginning sound names are also included.

Teacher Tip: Print on card stock for durability. BEFORE laminating, put a small sticker on the back of the correct beginning sounds pictures to make this activity self checking (see picture in the preview).
