This letter matching activity is easy to prep and easy for students to use. Plus they’ll get a little fine motor practice by using clothespins!
Students read the letter at the top of the card. They use a clothespin to “clip” the matching letter. There are two optional recording sheets to hold students accountable for their work.
This resource includes two sets of clip cards. One set will have students identifying the uppercase letter and clipping the matching lowercase letters. The second set will have students identifying the lowercase letter and clipping the matching uppercase letters.
As teachers, we need a ton of games and activities in our bag of tricks. We need to have several activities for our students to practice the skills we are teaching. It’s Hip to Clip is a fun way for your students to practice letter recognition and matching. A perfect addition your bag of tricks!
“I Can” visual directions pages and a cheat sheet for picture beginning sound names are also included.
Teacher Tip: Print on card stock for durability. BEFORE laminating, put a small sticker on the back of the correct beginning sounds pictures to make this activity self checking (see picture in the preview).
