It’s All Fun & Games Fall Themed Math & Literacy Activities for Kindergarten.
Themes included in this packet are: all things fall, fall kids, lots of pumpkins, hay, fall leaves, scarecrows, apples, and acorns. Please note: There are no Halloween themed activities in this fall packet.
This packet contains a total of 15 different activities. Note: Some of the activities have multiple version or very similar versions, so you can use the activities more than once, without having to re-explain directions to your students. Some activities are to be played individually, while others are meant to be played with a partner or small group.
All activities include a kid-friendly “I Can” visual directions to promote independence. A table of contents is included to help you easily find the skills or activities you need.
-Spin and Write: Students will spin the spinner to determine the writing utensils. They will practice writing their name. (L.K.1a)
-Let’s Build a Name: Students will build and write their name or the name of classmates. Construction themed, so this can used year round. (L.K.1a)
-Sunflower Sounds: Students will roll the cube, say the letter sound, and find a picture with the same beginning sound. (RF.K.3a)
-Beginning Sounds: Students will spin the spinner, say the beginning sound, find a picture with the matching beginning sound. (RF.K.3a)
-Scarecrow Sounds: Students will say the name of a picture and identify the beginning sound. They will find the letter on their paper and trace it using the color code. (RF.K.3a, L.K.1a)
-Apple Letters: Students will spin the spinner and write an uppercase or lowercase letter. Optional alphabet lines included for additional support. (RF.K.1d, L.K.1a)
-The Colors of Fall: Students will select an uppercase letter card. They will trace or write the matching lowercase letter on their paper (2 options included). (RF.K.1d, L.K.1a)
-Spin and Cover: Students will play a game to practice sorting letters, words, and sentences.
-Spinner Activities: 4 activities included – beginning sounds and uppercase/lowercase letter recognition. (RF.K.3a, L.K.1a, RF,K.1d)
-Letter Order: Students will write the number and fill in the letters that come after or before and after. An alphabet line is on the page for additional support. 2 activities included. (RF.K.1d, L.K.1a)
-Letter Strips: Students will use magnetic letters to show the matching uppercase letter to the given lowercase letter. A recording sheet is included. (RF.K.1a, L.K.1a)
-Pumpkin Words: Students will use magnetic letters to show the beginning and ending sounds of simple CVC words.
-Fall Rhyming Mats: Students will match the rhyming picture card to the card on the mat. Pictures are simple CVC words, made just for beginning rhymers. 2 activities included. (RF.K.2)
-Pumpkin Patch Sight Words: Students will use the pumpkin cards to build sight words on the “pumpkin patch” cards. Includes a blank version so that you can write in your own sight words. (RF.K.3)
-Sight Words: Students will match the sight words to their paper and trace/write them. Includes a blank version so that you can write in your own sight words. (RF.K.3.c, L.K.1a)
