Number Talks 2: Numbers 0-20

Description

Number sense is the foundation for strong math skills. It is a key component for math success. This Number Talks 2 packet was designed to help Kindergarten and first grade students master numbers 0-20.

These number talks activities require no prep and no color ink.

Number Talks 2: A more in depth look at numbers and a continuation of Number Talks 1. This activity would be best suited for an end of unit activity or as a student assessment page.

Students will find the number on a number line, count to show the numbers that come before and after and show the number using tally marks. They will show the number on a domino and create an addition sentence.

They will add one and subtract one to the focus number. They will draw dots on a dot cube and create an addition sentence (for number 7-10).

Finally they will determine how many more are needed to make ten and show it on a ten frame.

For numbers 11-20 some of the activities are replaced by base ten activities.
