Description

This resource will provide your students with fun, hands-on centers to practice reading, writing, and building/spelling CVC words. The CVC center activities included are perfect to use all year long and will make planning a breeze. Preparing these activities are also super easy!

Here’s a look at what’s included:

Mini Eraser Words: Students will select an activity card and use mini erasers to build the word. They will find the matching picture on the recording sheet and write the CVC word.

Poppin’ CVC Words: Students will select a card and say the name of the picture to determine the beginning, middle, and ending sound. They will place snap cubes or small erasers on the card to show the letters that spell the word. They will match the number on the card to the number on their paper and write the word.

Write the Room: Students will select a picture card and unscramble the letters to spell a CVC word. They will find the matching picture on their paper and record the CVC word.

Find and Trace: Students will select a picture card and identify the beginning, middle, and ending sound. They will find the matching CVC word on their paper and trace it to match the color on the card.

Find and Color: Students will select a word card and read the CVC word. They will find the matching CVC picture on their paper and color it to match the color on the card.

Be Our Guest: Students will select a card. They will identify the picture on the left. They will read the three CVC words to determine which one matches the picture. They’ll match the number on the card to the number on their paper and write the corresponding CVC word.

Mixed Up Sentences {Set 1 and Set 2}: Students will select a set of cards with the same picture. They will put the cards in order to make a complete sentence. To record their work, they will find the matching picture and record the sentence on the line.

CVC Sentences: Students will select a sentence card. They will unscramble the words to make a complete sentence. They will find the picture that matches the sentence. They will record the sentence on the line next to the matching picture.

Read and Draw: Students will select a sentence card and read the sentence. They will match the number on the card to the number on their paper. They will draw a picture to illustrate the sentence.

Roll and Trace: Students will roll the cube and identify the picture. They will find the corresponding CVC word on their paper and trace it to match the color-coded circle. They will continue until all of the words have been traced.

Spin and Color: Students will spin the spinner and read the CVC word. They will find a corresponding picture on their paper and color it to match the color-coded circle. They will continue until all of the pictures have been colored.

Puzzle Time: Students will work to put the puzzles together to spell a CVC word. They will find the matching picture on their paper and write the CVC word on the line.

Match the Word: Students will select a card and read the three CVC words. They will match the number on the card to the number on their paper. They will record the CVC word that matches the picture on the recording sheet.

Roll and Graph: Students will roll the cube and identify the picture. They will find the corresponding CVC word on their paper and write it on the graph using the color code. They will roll 15 times and use tally marks to keep track of their rolls.
