Here’s a great way for kids to practice fluency. This low-prep activity is a great for guided reading or as an independent center. Please download the preview to see this resource in action.
This packet contains two different types activities (4 of EACH activity is included…for a total of 8 centers):
- Write the CVC Word – Students will say the name of the picture on the card and record the words on their paper.
Draw the CVC Word – Students will read the words on the card and draw pictures on their paper to match.
**Pictures and words have mixed vowels and mixed word families.
Sets of cards are color coded to keep you organized. To show which set they worked on, students will color the small star at the top of their recording sheet to match the background of the CVC cards.
Two recording sheet options are included, allowing you to differentiate. Students can work on only two cards at a time or all four cards in that set.
You could also use these strips as a quick warm-up in your guided reading groups. Just give each student an activity strip and have them record their answers on a white board.
This packet includes:
-32 color coded CVC cards (enough for, at least, 8 centers)
-“I Can” visual directions to keep students on task
-4 recording sheets, allowing you to differentiate the amount of words students practice
-Answer Keys for easy checking and picture names
-Teacher friendly directions and a table of contents
