This packet of Thanksgiving activities includes math and literacy individual and partner games. The skills included are right on target with Kindergarten in the month of November. You can use these activities to add a little Thanksgiving and fall flair to your work stations!

Activities are interactive and kid-friendly. They are perfect for morning tubs, literacy centers, or fast finisher activities. You will LOVE them because the prep-work is super easy and minimal. Your students will love the activities because they are fun and engaging – they won't know they are learning!

Themes included in this packet are: Thanksgiving, turkeys, Pilgrims, pumpkins, scarecrows, fall leaves, squirrels, and acorns

This activities packet contains a total of 28 different activities. Note: Some of the activities have multiple version or very similar versions, so you can use the activities more than once, without having to re-explain directions to your students. Some activities are to be played individually, while others are meant to be played with a partner or small group.

All activities include a kid-friendly “I Can” visual directions to promote independence. A table of contents is included to help you easily find the skills or activities you need.

Here's an idea of the activities included:

-Pumpkin Numbers: Students will determine the number represented on the card and trace/write the number on their paper to match the color code. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Silly Scarecrows: Students will spin the spinner and read the number. They will find a space on their paper that shows the number represented (either using ten frames, base ten blocks, dice, or fingers) 2 activities included. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Fall Number Writing: Students will spin the spinner and count the dots. They will trace or write the corresponding number using the color code, and then write the numbers on their own. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.5)

-Thanksgiving Activities with Dice: Students will use dice to practice the following skills: subsidizing, counting on, and one more. 3 activities includes (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5, K.CC.A.2)

-Thanksgiving Turkey Numbers: Activities to practice one more and one less within 10. 2 activities included. (K.CC.A.2)

-Count and Color: Students will count a set of objects on the activity mat and color the objects on their paper to show how many. 2 activities included. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Roll and Cover Shapes (Partner Game): Students will spin the spinner, find the matching shape on their paper and cover it. First player to cover their board wins. (K.G.A.2, K.MD.B.3)

-Counting Turkeys: Students will roll a die, count the turkeys, and write the number. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Comparing Numbers: Students will compare two numbers to determine which is more or less. 2 activities included. (K.CC.C.7)

-Acorn Frames: Students will roll the ten frame die and count the ten frame. To show their work, they will record the number and show the number on the ten frame. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Feathery Five/Turkey Ten: Students will use manipulatives to practice composing and decomposing five and ten. 2 activities included. (K.OA.A.3)

-Gobblin’ Up Ten Frames: Students will spin the spinner and read the number. They will find the corresponding ten frame on their paper and color it to match the color code. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Turkey Feathers: Students will spin the spinner and read the number. They will use the color code to color that many feathers on their paper. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Pretty Pumpkins: Students will spin the spinner and count the pumpkins. They will find the number on their paper and color the pumpkin on their paper using the color code. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Roll and Cover Numbers (Bump Game): Students will play with a partner. They will roll the dice, count the dots and cover the number. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

-Turkey Sounds: Students will spin the spinner, say the letter sound, and find a picture with the same beginning sound. (RF.K.3a)

-Beginning Sounds: Students will spin the spinner, say the beginning sound, find a picture with the matching beginning sound. (RF.K.3a)

-Gobble, Gobble: Students will say the name of a picture and identify the beginning sound. They will find the letter on their paper and trace it using the color code. (RF.K.3a, L.K.1a)

-Rakin’ Leaves: Students will practice distinguishing between letters, words, and sentences.

-Stuffed Sentences: Students will spin the spinner and read the number. They will find a sentence that has that number of words within it and color it using the color code.

-Gobblin’ Up Letters: Students will select an uppercase letter card. They will trace or write the matching lowercase letter on their paper. (RF.K.1d, L.K.1a)

-Ending Sounds: Students will spin the spinner and identify the letter sound. They will use the color code to color a picture on their paper with the corresponding ending sound. RF.K.3a

-Leaf-y Letters: Students will spin the spinner and write an uppercase or lowercase letter. Optional alphabet lines included for additional support. (RF.K.1d, L.K.1a)

-Fall Words: Students will use magnetic letters to show the beginning and ending sounds of simple CVC words.

-Let’s Rhyme: Students will match the rhyming picture card to the card on the mat. Pictures are simple CVC words, made just for beginning rhymers. 2 activities included. (RF.K.2a)

-Rhyming Words: Students will spin the spinner and identify the picture. They will find a rhyming match on their paper and color it using the color code. (RF.K.2a)

-Fall Sight Words: Students will use the leaf letter cards to build sight words on the activity mats. A blank version is included for you to write your own sight words. (RF.K.3)

-Sight Words: Students will spin the spinner to identify what color to write the word. After they write the word, they will spin the spinner again to get a new color. They will write the word again using the new color. Blank cards are included for you to write your own sight words. (RF.K.3.c, L.K.1a)
