When teaching young people math, numbers 11 – 20 can often be a difficult concept to grasps. Having a strong foundation in number sense is essential for long-term math success. It is important for our students to develop a deep understanding of individual numbers, their quantities, and how they relate to other numbers. Number sense is developed through lots of practice and exposure.

This resource includes ten different themed sets of matching cards: dog and bowl, cookie jar and cookies, purse and pennies, number cards and flowers, frog and log, paint and easel, carrots and bucket, leaf and ladybug, number kids and ten frames, treasure map and pirate tally marks

This packet is easy to prep – just print, laminate, and cut along the straight lines.

Students will count each set of pictures or determine the number represented on the cards and match them to the corresponding number cards. Students can also play a memory matching game with the cards.

Also included are number reference pages and a few optional recording sheets if you'd like to use this activity as a center.
