This gingerbread and winter themed math resource includes interactive activities and partner games. The activities and skills are perfect for Kindergarteners during the month of December! Activities are interactive and kid-friendly. Your students will love the activities because they are fun and engaging; you will LOVE them because the prep-work is super easy and minimal.

This packet contains a total of 14 different activitiesSome of the activities have multiple version or very similar versions, so you can use the activities more than once, without having to re-explain directions to your students. Some activities are to be played individually, while others are meant to be played with a partner or small group.

All activities include a kid-friendly “I Can” visual directions to promote independence. A table of contents is included to help you easily find the skills or activities you need.

What's Included:

Penguin Numbers: Students will determine the number represented on the card and trace/write the number on their paper to match the color code. Numbers 11-15. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

Dice Activities: Students will use dice to practice the following skills: subtilizing, counting on, and one less. 3 activities included (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5, K.CC.A.2)

Gingerbread Tally: Students will spin the spinner and count the tally marks. They will find a gumdrop on their paper with the matching number and color it to match the color code. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

Gingerbread Numbers: Students will spin the spinner and count the dots. They will trace or write the corresponding number using the color code, and then write the numbers on their own. (K.CC.A.3, K.CC.B.5)

Sweet Counting: Students will spin the spinner and read the number. Using the color code, they will color that many objects on their paper. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

Cookie Counting: Students will spin the spinner and record the number. They will count back and record the numbers that come before. Numbers to 10 (K.CC.A.1)

Count and Color: Students will count a set of objects on the activity mat and color the objects on their paper to show how many. 2 activities included. (K.CC.B.4, K.CC.B.5)

Let’s Compare: Students will compare two numbers to determine which is more or less. 2 activities included. (K.CC.C.7)

Cocoa Counting: Students will spin the spinner and record the number. They will fill in the numbers that come after. Numbers 11-20. (Number line included). (K.CC.A.2)

Penguin Pals: Activities to practice one more and one less within 10. 2 activities included. (K.CC.A.2)

Gumdrop Frames: Students will roll the cube and count the set of gumdrops. Using the color code, they will color to show that number on the ten frame. (K.CC.B.5)

Roll and Cover, Make 5: A Partner game to practice composing and decomposing five. (K.OA.A.3, K.OA.A.5)

Roll and Cover, Make 10 (Winter Themed): A Partner game to practice making ten. (K.OA.A.3, K.OA.A.4)

Roll and Cover Count by Ten (Bump Game): Students will play with a partner. They will roll the dice, count by ten, and cover the number. (K.CC.A.1)
