Description

CVCe Graphing is a great way to incorporate math and literacy! This resource includes 25 low-prep CVCe Graphing activities that are kid-friendly and perfect for Kindergarten and first grade students.

Good News! This packet is part of a bundle: CVCe Bundle: Activities to Teach CVCe Words

This resource includes 25 CVCe graphing mats. Mats have four words/pictures on them. Mats are grouped by word families when possible, however some mats have two word families listed (for example – bite, kite, five hive). You can download the preview to see a complete list of the mats and words included.

Easy Prep!
To prepare this activity simply print and laminate the CVCe graphing picture mat. You could also slide the picture mats in a page protector. Print the corresponding recording sheet. You could also laminate the recording sheet for students to use over and over with a dry erase marker.

Explain Once, Directions Stay the Same!
The directions for each mat are the same. Once students understand how to complete the activity, they should be able to complete future graphs independently.

To complete this activity students will count each set of pictures on the graphing mat. They will color the graph to show the total number of each picture. They will use their graph to answer questions and then spell the CVC words on their recording sheet.

This activity makes a great center, morning tub, or fast finisher activity.

Teacher Tip:
For students who need a little extra support, have them place a plastic math cube or mini eraser over each picture as they are counting. This will help them know which pictures they have already counted. Once they are finished counting the set of pictures, they remove the counters and start again with the next set of pictures.
